After being European Championship runner-up last year, there can be only one clear goal for Maximilian Günther:
Nothing less than victory and the European championship title!
Maximilian dominated the racetracks from a young age. With numerous podium finishes at the ADAC Formula Masters, the 20-year-old was already an important part of Germany’s most notable junior programme, the German Post’s Speed Academy.
With the support of Mercedes-Benz, Maxi entered the world’s most competitive junior formula series in 2015 – and his victory at the Norisring proved that Maxi was already an impressive talent in his rookie year at the FIA Formula 3 European Championship. Four race wins in 2016 confirmed his continuing development, which he hopes will be the springboard for a title win this year.
Maxi also fulfils the high expectations that are put upon him:
Two victories at the prestigious Grand Prix de Pau, a victory at the Hungaroring and a first, second and third place at the Norisring extended his impressive racing performance over the last few months. The last races of the season at the Hockenheimring have showen which power Maximilian can have. With the second place in race two and the victory in the last race of the season he made his conciliatory finish with this season. It remains well remembered.
